Family Day: ‘Hold Onto Your Hats!’ (Saturday) Children know how much fun hats can be; after all, a certain crazy cat had one as his signature. In this program at the Bard Graduate Center, held in conjunction with its gallery show “Hats: An Anthology by Stephen Jones,” young participants will create their own fanciful headgear with the milliner Holly Slayton and the artist Barbara Barry. The afternoon will also include healthy snacks and hat-themed tales from the storyteller Stuart Nager. From noon to 4 p.m., Bard Graduate Center, 18 West 86th Street, Manhattan, (212) 501-3011,bgc.bard.edu; $5; $3 for 12 and under. Registration is strongly advised via phone or by e-mail to programs@bard.edu. http://www.nytimes.com/2011/10/21/arts/spare-times-for-children-for-oct-21-27.html?_r=1&scp=7&sq=bard%20family%20day&st=cse |
